Joe’s Tree – 3rd Place in DPReview Challenge

Joe's Tree
It’s always nice to get feedback; even better when the feedback is positive.
“Joe’s Tree”, an image I took in Monument Valley back in April, placed 3rd in DPReview’s Ultra Wide Angle Landscape challenge which ended on July 23. This was my first challenge entry, so it might just be beginner’s luck. Regardless, out of 150 entries this image placed third. I must say I was surprised and pleased. Here’s a link to all the entries.
Supposedly, this tree is named for photographer Joe Lange of Grand Junction, Co. At least that is what Joe said. It makes a nice foreground framing element for the West Mitten butte seen in the background.
Image details: Pentax K10D, Pentax smcP-DA12-24mm f/4 ED AL [IF] 1/90s f/16.0 at 24mm ISO 100.
