Join Scenic Aperture for an incredible Monument Valley Photography workshop in the heart of the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona. Hone your landscape photography skills with Frank Comisar, an award winning photographer and Scenic Aperture’s founder.
Straddling the border of southeastern Utah and northern Arizona, Monument Valley lies within the Navajo Nation’s borders. It is one of the most dramatic landscapes found in North America and is the quintessential symbol of the American west. It is a mystical place of gigantic proportions. Sandstone buttes, some over 1,000 feet tall, rise above the canyon floor. Ancient Anasazi ruins and petroglyphs dot the sandstone walls of this special place. The Navajo people who live in the valley add a human element to the spectacular scenery.
The Navajo people consider Monument Valley a healing place with deep spiritual meaning. Many visitors are equally inspired by the huge monoliths and red-rock spires which spring from the desert floor. Monument Valley is an ever-changing landscape and is especially enchanting at sunrise and sunset when the sandstone rock formations take on various hues from red to orange.
During this Monument Valley Photography workshop we will shoot the most iconic vistas of the American Southwest. You will shoot the most spectacular desert landscapes in America bathed in the warm light of early morning and late afternoon. We have lined up the best Navajo guide in the business! He will help us explore remote backcountry areas so you can capture incredible landscapes not accessible to the public.
This Monument Valley Photography workshop will be based in Mexican Hat, UT and is limited to eight participants. Sign up now to reserve your spot!
