Scenic Aperture Photography Workshop ToursWHAT’S INCLUDED

Workshop price includes photographic guiding and instruction in the field and the classroom. Each workshop also includes digital darkroom sessions where we finish our photos, provide software training, and critique our work.  We also provide fun and inspiration at no additional charge!


Unless otherwise noted, price does not include lodging, meals, transportation, gratuities, travel insurance, or other items not specifically indicated as included. Transportation to and from workshop origination point are not included. Participants are responsible for ground transportation. Car pooling is encouraged.


Lodging recommendations shall be provided upon receipt of deposit and registration. However, participants may make any lodging choice they desire. Note: some workshops include lodging. See specific workshop details for more information.


Unless otherwise indicated, meals are not included in the price of the workshop. Participants are encouraged to carry breakfast bars, snacks and water during photo shoots. Meals are available at or near our lodging facilities. Many people find a two-meal routine (e.g. a late breakfast after a sunrise shoot and either an early or late dinner before or after a sunset shoot), supplemented with breakfast bars and snacks, works well. Participants shall be responsible for their dietary needs.


A 50% deposit is required to secure your registration. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the start of the workshop. If registration occurs within 60 days of departure, the full amount is due at registration. You may register by submitting a registration form. Deposit and final payment can be made through PayPal or by credit card. U.S. customers may also submit payments by personal check.


Refunds are not available unless we can fill your spot in the workshop. If we are able to fill your spot you may choose a full refund or apply the money to a future workshop. Due to this cancellation policy, we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance and refundable airline tickets.

Scenic Aperture reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to inadequate enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. If a workshop is cancelled, participants will receive a full refund for deposits and fees paid to Scenic Aperture. Other related expenses, such as airline tickets, are purchased at your own risk. For this reason, we highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance and fully refundable airline tickets.

There will be no refunds due to delay or cancellation caused by weather before or during the workshop. Scenic Aperture shall not be responsible for additional expenses Participants may incur due to weather delays or cancellations.


Scenic Aperture reserves the right to make changes to the planned itinerary. Most changes are made to accommodate changing weather and lighting conditions and are intended to maximize the participants’ photography experience.


Participants must be in good general health. Though the pace will be relaxed and walking distances relatively short, participants must be capable of hiking up to one mile over uneven rocky terrain while carrying their gear.


Workshop and tour participants shall release and discharge Scenic Aperture and its owners, employees, instructors, agents, representatives, and assigns from any and all liability, even if that liability arises out of negligence and/or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above. Assumption of risk, waiver and release of liability, including negligence, encompasses, but is not limited to  death, bodily injury, illness, damage, theft and/or loss of personal property during said a workshop which occurs as a result of anything during the entire workshop. Each participant shall be required to sign a release and assumption-of-risk form prior to the workshop.
